Creating Accounts in Bulk

How to create accounts in bulk for Teachers and Learners in your school Campus

If you are an “Agent,” you have added permissions that allow you to manage the Classes and People in a school Campus. If you want to create accounts for multiple People in your school Campus at once …

Prepare your data

Prepare separate spreadsheets for your Teachers and your Learners with the details for each person on separate rows. The following details should be provided in separate columns in this order:

  • Given name

  • Family name

  • Email address
Please take extra care to ensure this is correct and without typos

  • Date of Birth
Enter in this format: in YYYY-MM-DD

  • Gender
Enter one of the following: Male, Female or Anon/Other

  • (Class)
You may optionally also add the name(s) of any Class(es) you want to place each person in. Separate multiple Class names with commas:
    eg: Class A,Class B

Add People > Bulk Import

When your data is ready, go to your Campus page, then below the Campus details at the top select the “People” tab and …

  1. Click the “+ Add People” button, then select “Bulk import.”

  2. Select “Teachers” or “Learners.”
On the first page, specify whether you are creating accounts for “Teachers” or “Learners.”

  3. Copy and paste the account details.
Copy up to 50 rows at a time from your spreadsheet and paste them into your browser window.

  4. Review the pasted account details.
You can edit the data in any field or remove any row if required.

    • If any of the email addresses and/or classes that you have pasted in already exist in our database, they will be highlighted in yellow.

    • If any of the data that you have pasted in is incorrectly formatted, it will be highlighted in red and must be corrected or removed before you can proceed.

  5. Review the class details.
All the names of the different Classes that you have pasted in are listed; whether each Class already exists or will be created; and how many People will be added or invited to each Class.

  6. Set an initial password.
You are given the option to set an initial password for all the new accounts that you are creating.

When the import is complete, you can tell your teachers or students to log in with their email address and the password you set, or else click “Forgot password?” to request a link by email with which they can (re)set their password.
